Dear BBQ Fans, I want to welcome you to Red Zone BBQ and invite you to have fun, relax and enjoy the smell of Hickory Smoke when you walk in the door... Red Zone BBQ is owned and operated by BBQ Brothers LLC, anchored by myself; Tom Crow, a self proclaimed passionate, committed, and proud Midwestern meat eater striving for BBQ bliss! My love for meat started at a young age, on a stool at my grandfather "Tiny" Hunter's meat counter in Watertown, SD. I learned everything that it takes to break down a full side of beef, all the way down to grinding the hamburger. On the other end of the state, I had the pleasure of running around the Crow's I-90 Truck stop in Rapid City, SD and harassing all the cooks, wait staff and employees. If you ever find any of them, they will tell you how hard it was to keep me off of the counters and out of the kitchen. Man, were the pancakes amazing there... Then, throughout the many years of working through college, I worked in sport bars, cafes and also joined in with my family while cooking great feasts for our gatherings. I have done everything from commercial glass work to IT Consulting (sounds fancy, but it was just fixing computers when people locked them up). I chased after the dream of "Professional Sports" in the indoor football world for about 7 years and loved every minute of the time I spent in the arenas. My strength was putting on the "show" of the games. What I found was that I truly enjoyed entertaining people and providing an atmosphere that provided a "Great Time" for all. When the opportunity came up for me to come to Omaha and take over Red Zone BBQ, I jumped at the chance. How perfect was this? Entertaining people and cooking all at the same time... That is FANTASTIC!!! So, in April of 2008, I moved to Omaha to work on the acquisition of Red Zone BBQ. I took over the keys on June 19th, 2008 and began running with the BBQ Dream. My BBQ knowledge comes from Memphis, TN, and my great friend Ernie Mellor with "Hog Wild - Real Memphis BBQ". Ernie took me under his wing and taught me the art of good BBQ and the tricks of the trade... If you come in today, you will find me, Juston "The Angry Meat Guy" and/or Mike "The Happy Night Guy" at the counter willing to take care of any and all BBQ desires that you have.
